      Rui Flunser Pimentel, born in Lisbon in 1951, is a versatile artist with a degree in architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, obtained in 1975. His diverse career spans graphic design, theater set design, comics, film operating, illustration, exhibition design, and caricature. Since 1973, his drawings and satirical illustrations have been published both domestically and internationally. He contributed to O Jornal from 1987 until its closure and later collaborated with Viso on the column Puro Veneno. Pimentel has held numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide and has received multiple press awards. His works are part of collections at the Museum Karikatur & Cartoon in Basel, Switzerland, and Stiftung Haus der Geschichte des Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn, Germany. Notable exhibitions include the Portuguese comics exhibition in 1979 in Belém, the 2000 showcase of Portuguese comics from 1940-1980 in Lisbon, and a comics and illustration exhibition in 1998 at the Lisbon City Museum. He conceptualized the exhibition Rysunkowa Rewolucja: Rewolucja Goździków i komiks, displayed in Coimbra, Aveiro, and Setúbal, as well as Coimbra w komiksie (2003). His second published comic appeared in A Comuna de Paris (1975), following his first, Cames w obrazkach, based on Jorge Serro's play, published in 1981.
