This is the story about an African American woman's pain and struggles through life's transitions from first of all, being in a marriage filled with disappointed obstacles and frustrations. As she quickly enters a second marriage, it proves to be one of abuse and suffering and she realizes immediately that this is not the life she wants for herself or her four sons. At this point, she has survived two catastrophic encounters in marriage. For some reason, however, she manages to become a successful single parent as well as acquiring both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education.
