Set in 1745 Quebec City, the story follows an abandoned infant discovered by a French-Canadian couple who adopt her and name her Karen Bluejeans. Unbeknownst to those around her, this Mic-Mak Indian girl is destined to play a significant role in the unfolding events of her time. The narrative explores themes of identity, heritage, and the intertwining fates of different cultures in New France.
