Set in 1986, the story follows Muna Heddad, an immigrant from Lebanon navigating her new life in Montreal amidst the backdrop of the 1980s. Struggling to find work as a French teacher, she takes a job as a hotline operator at a weight-loss center, where she becomes a confidante to callers sharing their personal struggles. Through her interactions, Muna confronts her own challenges and the complexities of her past, all while providing a listening ear to those grappling with their own issues of isolation and inadequacy.
Blackbodying recounts the first-hand exile stories of two Lebanese citizens and their routes to Canada.
