Following a threat to her life, and to the throne and court she is to one day inherit, Princess Imotenya Aria Accra has spent the last ten years of her life hiding in the village of Sapele from rebels and supporters of the former heir to the throne of Xavia, her uncle. When her father, the king, passes away, Aria is taken back to the palace where she finds that her former home isn't as safe as it was thought to be. There are frequent rebel attacks and a dangerous game of power is being played in the palace, and Aria can't decide who has her best interests at heart and who would see her cleared from the board.
