In an effort to translate my state of mind and personal experiences into an architectural concept, I designed various spaces that embody different states of being, unified into a coherent structure. This integrated work reflects a polyphony of cultures, where these cultures interact within the designed spaces, creating an illusion of neutrality—a carte blanche. The space appears devoid of political complexities, fostering a relationality grounded in human experience, with diverse cultures conversing in a shared landscape. This romantic notion sparked discussions on cultural appropriation and identity, particularly with female artists and thinkers who emphasize the need for reflective spaces that embrace critical narratives to deepen our understanding of cultural conditioning. The project originated from the desire to explore reality through individual perspectives within a collective space. The investigation of personal experiences within culture is mirrored in the materiality of the architectural models and the narratives of women navigating multiple cultures. It represents a mélange of architectural styles, blending sacred and profane elements, forming a trans-cultural hybrid. This dialogue among cultural realms seeks confusion and, ultimately, peace. My quest for identity yields no singular answer but rather a polyphony of voices.
