The book investigates the impact of institutional quality on structural transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on industrialization and export diversification. Utilizing a dynamic panel model and a double least squares approach, it analyzes data from 46 countries between 2002 and 2018, sourced from reputable organizations like the World Bank and UNCTAD. Findings indicate that higher institutional quality generally enhances structural transformation, providing insights into economic development in the region.

The dissertation evaluates the youth agropastoral entrepreneurship programme's effects on production and income amidst high unemployment and youth vulnerability in Cameroon. It analyzes data from a 2019 survey of 540 participants, comparing 247 beneficiaries with 293 non-beneficiaries. Utilizing quasi-experimental methods, the study finds that participants earn, on average, 20,919.93 Fcfa more than their counterparts, indicating a statistically significant positive impact of the programme on beneficiaries' economic conditions.

The research focuses on identifying public policy indicators that enhance environmental protection in Africa, specifically targeting deforestation and pollution control. Utilizing Generalized Methods of Moments (GMM) and Double Least Squares (DLS), the study analyzes data from 28 African countries between 2002 and 2016. Findings reveal that while corruption control and government efficiency aid in reducing deforestation, they do not significantly impact pollution control. Political stability is highlighted as a crucial factor for environmental improvement, emphasizing the need for African nations to foster a peaceful and stable governance environment.
