Das Auftreten neuer Beta-Lactamasen wie ESBL (Extended Spectrum beta-Lactamase) und MBL (Metallo beta-Lactamase) ist ein wichtiger Mechanismus, durch den pathogene Bakterien eine Resistenz gegen Beta-Lactame entwickeln. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war es, das Vorkommen von ESBL- und MBL-produzierenden gramnegativen Bakterien aus klinischen Isolaten phänotypisch zu bestimmen. ESBL wurde bei 7,5 % von Escherichia coli und 33,3 % von Klebsiella pneumoniae nachgewiesen. Keines der P. aeruginosa-Isolate in unserer Studie wies im Doppelscheiben-Synergietest (DDST) eine ESBL-Produktion auf. Der Disk-Potenzierungstest wies MBL bei 12,5 % der E. coli-, 15,4 % der Klebsiella pneumoniae- und 10 % der P. aeruginosa-Isolate nach, während der modifizierte Hodges-Test ebenfalls MBL bei 12,5 % der Escherichia coli-, 7,7 % der Klebsiella pneumoniae- und 15 % der Pseudomonas aeruginosa-Isolate nachwies. Unsere Studie zeigt, dass gramnegative Bakterien klinischen Ursprungs ESBL und MBL produzieren. Der Nachweis von ESBL und MBL ist von entscheidender Bedeutung, da er den Ärzten hilft, die richtige Therapie für die betroffenen Patienten zu verschreiben. Ein rationeller Einsatz von Antibiotika ist für die Kontrolle resistenter Mikroben unerlässlich.
