    Horatio Holmes prešiel dlhou cestou od svojich dní na základnej škole Longtides. Odvtedy sa naučil hrať na krídlovku (zle), pracoval ako autor súťažných matematických úloh a dokonca hral v hre Hamlet postavu, po ktorej bol pomenovaný. V iných ohľadoch je stále rovnaký: vášnivý čitateľ, obhajca spravodlivosti a niekto, kto má rád svoje hot dogy s horčicou. Jeho písanie je často plné hravosti, ale tiež hlbokého záujmu o spravodlivosť.
