CONTINENTAL SHELF is a selection of Gould's shorter poems, written over a period of 52 years. From a poet who has focused on composing long sequences and book-length works -- such as Memorial Day, Island Road, Stubborn Grew, Lanthanum, RAVENNA DIAGRAM, and (forthcoming) Restoration Day -- these poems offer a structural and stylistic counterpoint.
