Our daily experience, shaped by the corporate clock, is detrimental to our well-being. Designed for profit rather than people, this system distorts our perception of time. The author explores how we arrived at a society where time equates to money, offering alternative models inspired by pre-industrial cultures and ecological rhythms. This work presents a transformative view of time, inviting us to envision a world not dictated by work or profit motives. Through a journey into various temporal habitats, we are reminded of the natural cycles around us—changing days, growing gardens, migrating birds, and eroding cliffs. The author highlights the fluidity of waiting and desire, the intertwining of present moments with childhood memories, and the gradual processes of healing and growth. By embracing these diverse rhythms, we can redefine our lives, identities, and sources of meaning beyond the confines of work. This perspective encourages us to recognize that the trajectory of our lives and the planet is not predetermined. In reclaiming time's inherently creative nature, we may find that it ultimately offers us salvation.
