Today's world is increasingly shaped by migration and globalization, bringing together diverse cultural backgrounds and personalities. This interaction influences not only our professional lives but also our personal relationships, particularly friendships. Understanding friendship processes through the lenses of cultural and personality psychology is essential in navigating this era of multiculturality and individuality. The book presents a collection of international theoretical perspectives and new empirical insights from scholars in these fields, focusing on friendship. It includes chapters that primarily address cultural or personality psychology, as well as those that combine both perspectives. Additionally, two integrative chapters synthesize the contributions into a comprehensive theoretical framework. With contributions from forty authors across twenty-four chapters, representing twenty-nine locations in fifteen countries, the book exemplifies internationality and diversity. It serves as a valuable resource for future integrative research on the complex phenomenon of friendship, which we collectively label yet experience in uniquely personal ways.
