It rapidly establishes an effective group atmosphere that allows individual group members to work on different issues in the same session using a series of standard group process procedures. The standard format is designed to help the therapist track the implementation and completion of treatment techniques. It targets specif­ic problems, clearly defines treatment goals, and identifies specific time-limited interventions . Group members assume a high degree of ownership and responsibility for solving their own problems in collaboration with the group leader who guides them through a systematic problem-solving process.
