Focusing on the plight of girl migrants known as Kayayei, this book delves into their settlement conditions in Accra after leaving their northern Ghanaian communities. It employs the Harris-Todaro and Push-Pull models to analyze their motivations, predominantly personal gain. The findings highlight the dire living and working conditions these girls face, exposing them to exploitation and health risks. It critiques government interventions as ineffective due to funding and planning issues, and calls for improved data collection on child migrants in Ghana.
