The study explores dance as a profound expression of identity and community in Santa Barbara, Venezuela, highlighting its cultural, social, and religious significance. Through interviews with three dancers descended from the founders, the research uncovers how dance embodies popular sentiment and tradition. It emphasizes the importance of preserving folkloric dance, especially during the annual celebration for their patron saint, despite the influence of modern variations. Ultimately, it reveals dance as a mystical link to ancestry and community heritage.
