Focusing on the intersection of food sovereignty and education, this work delves into the 17 de Abril settlement, a community formed after a tragic massacre of landless workers. Through seven years of fieldwork, David Meek argues that critical food systems education is vital for the survival of agrarian social movements. While emphasizing the urgent need for such approaches in the Amazon, the study also addresses the global relevance of food systems education across all educational levels, urging a reevaluation of pedagogical politics.
