Promoting the protection of glaciers and mountain ecosystems

Focusing on the highlands of the Ancash region in Peru, this work presents a qualitative study conducted in 2021 that explores local perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors related to mountains, glaciers, and glacial lakes. It aims to provide relevant insights for decision-makers and governments, emphasizing the importance of culturally informed communication, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research serves as a guide for making informed choices that benefit both the environment and the communities reliant on these natural resources.
