While serving at church and enjoying outings with his grandfather, a family tragedy prompts him to question his faith and upbringing. He finds himself captivated by the beatnik culture, exploring a vibrant world of spontaneity at Caffe Trieste, where he indulges in bitter espresso and revolutionary poetry, defying his parents' wishes. This journey leads him to confront his beliefs and embrace a new identity.
