Focusing on the emotional aftermath of committing homicide, this study examines the psychological distress experienced by inmates in Douala Central Prison. It explores how the perception of control over their actions influences their emotional suffering. By analyzing the experiences of five male inmates convicted of voluntary manslaughter, the research delves into the psychological mechanisms that contribute to their distress, shedding light on the complex interplay between crime, control, and mental health.
