Kyla Wazana Tompkins employs a queer of color methodology to critique historical and contemporary narratives, drawing from diverse sources including 19th-century literature and modern art. By linking these materials to feelings and social values, she reveals their role in shaping human behavior and resistance against capitalist extraction, highlighting the dynamic interplay between art, politics, and identity.
