Potentials of Dadin-Kowa and Bayo River Silica Sand for Foundry Use

The study explores the potential of silica sand deposits from Dadin-kowa and Bayo rivers for foundry applications, focusing on their chemical, physical, and mechanical properties. Utilizing X-ray fluorescence and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, the research found high silica content, with Bayo river sand having a notably higher SiO2 percentage. Key physical characteristics, such as grain fineness and size, were analyzed alongside mechanical properties like compression strength and permeability. The optimal moisture content for enhancing green compression strength was determined to be 4%.
