Focusing on Nanjing's old south area, this research examines the evolution of plot division mechanisms since 1949 and their effects on urban development. It highlights how the persistence of megaplots has resulted in the loss of historic land subdivisions. To address these challenges, the study advocates for the implementation of innovative plot division strategies aimed at restoring the historical integrity of this urban region.
