The book explores the advancements in prostate cancer diagnosis, particularly the use of fluorine-18 labeled Choline PET/CT and the emerging radiopharmaceutical 18F-DCFPyL. Highlighting the overexpression of Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) in most prostate cancers, it discusses how 18F-DCFPyL offers a potentially more sensitive method for detecting early tumor recurrence. The current status of 18F-DCFPyL in Spain, where it is used in special situations but not yet marketed, underscores the need for further research to establish its diagnostic value.
