Franklin Hall's life, marked by rural poverty and deep religious conviction, shaped his unique approach as an independent evangelist during the Great Depression and World War II. He distanced himself from the Methodist church due to its opposition to healing, instead advocating for a doctrine centered on prayer, fasting, and healing. Although he never garnered a large following, his teachings emphasized "body-felt salvation" and the necessity of fasting, which he believed were crucial for spiritual revival. His extreme views limited his appeal, yet he remained a steadfast teacher throughout the 1950s revival period.
