Viac o knihe
The book explores the courageous artistic resistance of Slovene painter Tone Kralj during the rise of totalitarianism in Europe. He covertly created subversive wall paintings in over fifty Catholic churches, embedding critiques of Fascism and Nazism within Biblical narratives. By depicting Hitler and Mussolini as villainous figures in these scenes, Kralj used irony and grotesqueness to communicate hope and the belief in the eventual downfall of oppressive regimes, all while evading detection by the authorities.
