The book investigates the rising trend of multiple simultaneous peace operations (MSPOs) by international organizations in conflict zones, highlighting the factors that foster cooperation among them. It explores both rational-interest explanations, such as resource sharing and conflict complexity, and social-constructivist perspectives, including social learning and cultural similarities. Utilizing a multi-method approach, the author employs statistical analysis, interviews, and case studies to reveal that cooperation is initiated through member-states' acquiescence and driven by the desire to share costs and enhance effectiveness.
