Enrique Dussel critically examines the exclusion of Latin America from the universal history of philosophy, challenging the Eurocentric view that defines philosophy's origins in Greece. He argues that all cultures transition from myth to logos, but never fully abandon myth, emphasizing a phenomenological approach inspired by P. Ricoeur. Dussel utilizes Emmanuel Levinas's concept of Exteriority to critique the "Totalizing Totality" of Greek-European philosophy, advocating for the recognition of diverse philosophical traditions, including those from Latin America and beyond.
