The book critically examines the right to education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, highlighting the systemic issues stemming from parental financial contributions to teachers, known as PRIMEs. This practice undermines the constitutional guarantee of free primary education, leading to the exclusion of many children from schooling. The author argues that despite international commitments, the Congolese state must prioritize resource allocation and political will to restore quality education and uphold children's rights.
