Health and Nutritional Status among Urban Housewives A Study in Sociology of Health and Wellness

The present study is an exploration one in which an attempt is made to understand health and nutritional status of housewives in a mid-size city in cultural western Karnataka. Health and wellness always depict that a person is well in terms of food, social, cultural, economic, religious, physical and other aspects. Status of a person is considered to be good when one is healthy and having good socio-economic environment with better income and better living conditions. People are very busy in their life as they have to fulfill roles within and outside home. Man serves the family by working outside and women, especially housewives looks after family and household.
