The phenomenon of corruption in DR Congo: perceptions and attitudes

Viac o knihe

Corruption is a phenomenon that affects all sectors of a state. Several studies show that this practice is more prevalent in developing countries, where even the educational sector and the school environment are affected. In DR Congo, corruption has produced and continues to produce enormous damage on all levels. It has caused and continues to cause increasing impoverishment of the population, a crisis of legitimacy of the state and public authorities in general, more or less violent conflicts, a perversion of moral values, an obstacle to the democratization and development process, etc. It can even be said that the phenomenon of corruption has become "a routine element of the functioning of the administrative or para-administrative apparatus, from the top to the bottom". The overall objective of the study is to understand the phenomenon of corruption, its root causes and manifestations, in order to propose appropriate strategies to reduce it in the medium term.
