Some stories are too real to be told. But I decided to try. I was fortunate that life propelled me upward and allowed me to fulfill my great childhood dream. How high did I reach? You will say, because everyone has their own Everest. I only know that today, when I look down to see where I started, I still feel dizzy. Lately, everyone is writing. And to avoid the notion that football players write with their feet, I chose to create this book with sports journalist Vladimir Pamukov. In reality, if there is anything he doesn't know about me or about the Fourth in the world, it clearly wasn't worth knowing or simply... he didn't want to know. So, I tell the story, and Vlad does the writing. On some topics, I open up for the first and most likely the last time in "The Story." I believe you will appreciate it. I didn't spare or hide anything. I didn't pretend to be someone I'm not. This is not a book about the best person we know – that was the only requirement from Vlad Pamukov before I began to tell, and he to write. And I believe I adhered to it. Moreover, we didn't argue even once while working. If we didn't succeed, I hope you at least appreciate the fact that we had the courage to try. If we did succeed... there will still be those who will criticize us. That's how it is with me – there are no half-tones. Get used to it and enjoy! This is my truth, my story. Yours: Hristo Stoichkov
