Opium, Tagebuch einer Entziehungskur ist ein Buch von Jean Cocteau aus dem Jahr 1930. Im Dezember 1928 tritt Jean Cocteau in die Klinik von Saint-Cloud ein, um eine Entziehungskur von Opium zu durchlaufen. In dieser Zeit wird er in wenigen Tagen eines seiner Meisterwerke, Les Enfants terribles, schreiben. Aus dieser Erfahrung resultiert auch das Tagebuch, das 1930 veröffentlicht wurde. "Ich plädiere nicht. Ich urteile nicht. Ich bringe Beweise für und gegen den Opiumprozess." Hier hinterfragt der Schriftsteller in voller Klarheit eine Erfahrung, die mit dem tiefsten Wesen des Menschen verbunden ist und somit auch mit der künstlerischen Schöpfung, die als Zugang zu einer anderen Dimension der Zeit verstanden wird.
