    Robin Jacques bol britský umelec a knižný ilustrátor známy svojou plodnou tvorbou. Napriek absencii formálneho umeleckého vzdelania sa sám naučil kresliť a vyvinul si osobitý štýl, ktorý zdobil viac ako 100 románov a kníh pre deti od 40. do 80. rokov 20. storočia. Zvlášť pozoruhodné sú jeho ilustrácie zbierok rozprávok, ktoré oživil magickými vizuálnymi interpretáciami. Jacques tiež významne prispel do literárneho sveta ako umelecký redaktor časopisu *Strand* a neskôr svoje skúsenosti odovzdával ako pedagóg na viacerých umeleckých školách.
