Writing a textbook is an obligation for academics towards their students and colleagues seeking continuing education. This work reflects the latest developments in oral and maxillofacial surgery and significant technological advancements. It is based on the extensive experience of the authors and contributors, alongside relevant contemporary international literature in oral surgery. The aim is to provide dental students and general practitioners with practical guidance in the form of an atlas featuring surgical procedures suitable for the dental office. Contributions include Dr. C. Alexandridis, who authored Chapter 16 on “Prophylactic and Therapeutic Use of Antibiotics in Dentistry,” and Dr. E. Stefanou, who wrote Chapter 2, “Radiographic Examination in Oral Surgery.” Additionally, Dr. A. Pefanis contributed as a co-author, enhancing the text's depth and utility. Each chapter is crafted to ensure that readers gain essential knowledge and skills applicable to real-world dental practice. The collaborative effort of these experts underscores the commitment to advancing education in the field of dentistry, ensuring that practitioners are well-equipped to meet the challenges of modern dental care.
