From the South Bronx projects to the boardroom, Cin Fabré's journey began at just nineteen when she entered the world of Wall Street. Raised by immigrant parents, she learned the art of hustling to escape her abusive father and poverty. A friend's tip led her to VTR Capital, a brokerage firm connected to the infamous Stratton Oakmont. There, she discovered a workforce of young Black and Brown employees, primarily relegated to menial tasks for white male brokers, with little hope for advancement. Driven by the allure of profit, Cin was determined to succeed. In her candid narrative, she exposes the inequities faced by herself and others, detailing her rise from cold caller to stockbroker—the only Black woman to achieve this at her firm. She shares her experiences of the excesses of 1990s Wall Street, including strip clubs, lavish parties in the Hamptons, and high-end shopping sprees, all while reveling in the thrill of financial success. Through her journey of landing high-value clients and navigating the volatile world of trading, Cin reflects on what it takes to build a prosperous life and ultimately triumph over Wall Street's challenges.
