By employing an interdisciplinary approach that includes comparative historical linguistics, archaeology, and oral traditions, she reveals that concepts of economic disparity existed well before colonial influences. This work challenges conventional narratives about the region's historical economic dynamics, highlighting the intellectual engagement of communities with issues of wealth and poverty throughout history.
