In this darkly comedic YA graphic novel, a group of teens initiates a plan to bring senior citizens to a local theme park, motivated by the park's unofficial rule: if someone dies on the property, their party receives Lifetime Passes. Sixteen-year-old Jackie Chavez adores Kingdom Adventure, where she shares cherished memories with her friends Nikki, Daniel, and Berke. However, her world is shaken when her parents are deported to Mexico, leaving her with her Tía Gina, who informs her that they can’t afford a season pass for the summer. During a visit to the park, Jackie learns about the macabre rule and devises a scheme to bring seniors from Valley Care Living, using a fake volunteer program, hoping one will pass away during the visit. Their first "volunteer" is a spirited resident named Phyllis. As the plan unfolds, Jackie discovers the seniors’ rich histories and their ties to Kingdom Adventure, uncovering difficult truths about herself, her friends, and their futures. With Claudia Aguirre's artwork, Terry Blas delivers a graphic novel that blends dark humor with poignant themes, creating a twisted satire about obsession and the complexities of friendship.
