Known as a collection of spells and prayers, it was essential for burial practices, often placed in tombs to aid the deceased. The most complete version, discovered by E. A. Wallis Budge in 1888, dates back to 1500 B.C. and was authored by Ani, a Royal Scribe. Budge's 1895 translation introduced this significant work to English readers, preserving its historical and cultural importance.
