The new Social Credit System assigns scores based on behavior, leading to severe penalties for low-rated individuals, such as bans from travel, job exclusions, and limited educational opportunities for their children. The situation is dire, with over a million citizens imprisoned in "reeducation" camps in western China due to this extensive surveillance. This digital totalitarianism is facilitated by Chinese tech companies and supported by Western governments and corporations seeking access to China's market. As discussions on trade and tariffs continue, the Chinese Communist Party is actively exporting its surveillance technology globally, including to the United States.
