Exploring the urgent need for new theories in African theatre, this Element introduces Afroscenology as a framework for analysis. It delves into the historical context of laboratories where this theory was developed, as well as the evolution of rombic theatre. By establishing a distinct theatric theory, it contrasts with traditional Aristotelian approaches. Additionally, it discusses performatic techniques and provides insights into Afrosonic mime through practical examples from performer training workshops, highlighting innovative methods in decolonizing theatre.
