"We are delighted to present the 2020 edition of the Michelin Main Cities of Europe Guide. This year we are excited to add Slovenia's capital, Ljubljana, to our selection. The guide caters for every type of visitor, from business traveller to families on holiday, and lists the best establishments across all categories of comfort and price. So whether you're visiting for work or pleasure, you'll find something that's right for you, whether that's a cosy little bistro or a luxurious restaurant. All of the establishments in the guide have been selected by our famous Michelin inspectors, who are the eyes and ears of our readers. They always pay their own bills and their anonymity is key to ensuring that they receive the same treatment as any other guest. Each year, they search for new establishments to add to the guide -- and only the best make it through. Once the annual selection has been made, the 'best of the best' are then recognised with awards : our famous One *, Two ** and Three *** Stars and our value-for-money Bib Gourmands. Within the guide, restaurants are ordered according to the quality of their food, with Michelin Stars at the top, followed by Bib Gourmands and then Michelin Plates. Being chosen by the Michelin Inspectors for inclusion in the guide is a guarantee of quality in itself and the Plate symbol points out restaurants where you will have a good meal."-- Page 3 of cover
