Set in 1974, a young stonemason embarks on a quest for independence in Montana, navigating a landscape still haunted by the violent remnants of the Old West. He becomes embroiled in conflict alongside Kay, a skilled sharpshooter, as they face threats from villains driven by greed and visions of hidden gold. As tensions rise and bloodshed ensues, Harlan discovers that his pursuit of the wrong woman may lead him to true treasure in Kay, prompting them to confront the dangers together and revealing that the spirit of the Old West persists.
