The story follows baysprites, tiny magical beings resembling elves, who escape Ireland during the Great Hunger in 1846. A clan of about one hundred embarks on a journey across the Atlantic, stowing away on a ship to Baltimore. Upon arrival, they create new colonies along the northern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, blending their rich cultural heritage with the challenges of a new world. The narrative explores themes of survival, adaptation, and the enduring spirit of these enchanting creatures.
