Frances Burney, an influential English novelist and playwright, is best known for her acclaimed novel, Evelina, published in 1778. Throughout her life, she served as "Keeper of the Robes" for Queen Charlotte and married French General Alexandre d'Arblay in 1793. Burney's extensive writing career included plays, a memoir of her father, and numerous letters and journals, many of which were published posthumously. After years of travel, she settled in Bath, England, where she passed away in 1840, leaving a lasting literary legacy.
