After a painful breakup with her boyfriend and boss, Layla Lewis escapes to Trecastle in North Cornwall to house-sit for a friend. This familiar location holds memories of holidays with her estranged mother and is also home to her childhood friend, Hannah McKenzie. Seeking solace and a fresh start, Layla takes up Hannah's offer of a place to stay and a job at the local pub, allowing her to heal and rediscover herself away from her previous life.
