Frances Burney, an influential English novelist and playwright, is celebrated for her sharp satire and keen observations of society. Her tenure as "Keeper of the Robes" to Queen Charlotte and her marriage to French exile General Alexandre d'Arblay highlight her unique life experiences. Burney's major work, Evelina, remains her most acclaimed novel. Despite many of her plays going unperformed during her lifetime, her extensive writings, including a memoir of her father and numerous letters, continue to be published and appreciated posthumously.
