Set against a backdrop of political tension between Jeenobi and Aelshia, the story follows Litz, an ambassador and dragon rider, as she navigates a fragile peace agreement banning dragon slaying. Unexpectedly, she encounters Kella, a renowned dragon slayer, and finds herself drawn to her. When Litz must extradite Kella for trial, they face greater dangers in the desert. Their survival hinges on overcoming their differences, as the fate of both kingdoms hangs in the balance amidst the wilds and their burgeoning connection.
