Set in Fallingbrook, Wisconsin, the story follows Emily Westhill, who operates a popular donut shop with her retired police chief father-in-law and their pet tabby, Deputy Donut. When a beloved customer is murdered, Emily finds herself in a precarious situation where she must take matters into her own hands to uncover the truth and ensure her own safety, proving that running a business can be just as dangerous as solving a crime.
