Focusing on American science fiction films from 1950 to 2020, this study examines the portrayal of extraterrestrial invasions as reflections of imperialism. It explores how these narratives depict the U.S. and its allies as subjects of colonial control, allowing filmmakers to critique or defend American interventionism. The analysis highlights the films' commentary on domestic racial and gender hierarchies alongside international hegemonic practices, tracing the evolution of these themes from the Cold War era to contemporary cultural divisions.
