Set against the backdrop of a small Kansas town, the story follows Gabe, a young man deeply passionate about jazz, as he copes with the emotional fallout from his father's abandonment and his mother's death. While crafting a musical inspired by Judy Garland and Noel Coward, Gabe discovers a fragment of a letter from his father, prompting him to embark on a journey to Chicago. With only the name of a bar, The Two Rivers, as his lead, Gabe grapples with his unresolved feelings for his girlfriend Maisie while seeking answers about his father's past.
